Twenty minutes a day. The rent is still due.
You wake up in the Serf Shack with twenty-five gold. The kingdom has a forge, a market, fifty people with routines of their own, and a clock counting the day down to 0:00. What you make of it is up to you.Make it, then sell it
The King's Forge. Win a bout and the loser's harness is yours. Beat it into an arming sword, then sell it or carry it into the next fight.
Whatever you forged is in your hand when you fight, from a pommel strike and an overhead cleave to a throwing axe and the Murder-Stroke.
The Strip. Twenty beds behind your croft: turnips for the gate, herbs for the still.
The Alembic. Seven phials, from a Camomile Draught to the Great Elixir.
The Byre. Doves to a draught ox, filling the chest by the gate every few days. Nothing dies of neglect.
The Tannery. Hides in; saddles and a cuir-bouilli cuirass out.
Climb a ladder, if you must
Start as a Runner at the Merchants' Guild and argue your way to the Master's chair. Then buy the charter.
Take a craft off the tally board at the forge, bake pies at the Hot Coffin, or sing at the Half Moon.
Fight for the belt on the sand under the Colosseum.
A kingdom that notices you
Fifty people with homes and routines. Befriend them, court one, marry.
Hawk a saint's fingerbone in the street. Every honest refusal adds heat, and the watch keeps cells under Highcrown.
Bring home a tiger from the Menagerie, if you have a roof for it.
Spend it all
Climb from the Serf Shack to a Stone Manor, then pay a billion gold for the King's Castle.
Furnish every room in build mode, the castle included.
Keep a stable from a Pit Pony to a Destrier, and shop the Bazaar for gowns, rings and the Curio's table of the day.
An evening out, with friends
Shoot an end at the butts in Highcrown, or sit down to Hazard in the Knucklebone's cellar. Up to four of you can share the kingdom over a LAN, and settle anything left over with a fight.Features
