K.O.T.L.O.V.K.A.: Rayon of Oblivion is an anomalous RPG with turn-based combat and dark humor.
You wake up among dead bodies, unable to remember your own name. A stranger has left you a pistol and the coordinates of the nearest settlement. Welcome to the Rayon of Oblivion.
The people of the Rayon remember neither their names nor their past, but they know they don’t belong. Some will go from svalker to a meal in the jaws of a Meat Cube. Others may come closer to unraveling the mysteries of the Rayon of Oblivion. Death is easy to find here. But you might also find a fortune, fulfill your deepest dreams, or discover the truth, however bitter it may be.
Here, forest paths change direction, abandoned laboratories bear the traces of horrific experiments, and the servants of the Black Church know more than they let on. Svalkers hunt for relics, trade stash coordinates, and tell stories around the campfire that make it hard to sleep.
Search for relics, explore the Rayon, and decide whom to trust. Your actions could leave a lasting mark on this place. Then again, perhaps they won’t.
Perhaps all you want is to go home. If you still remember what that means.
Features
Freedom to Explore. Choose your routes and pursuits: take on jobs, hunt for relics, discover hidden locations, or find your own way to make a living. Travel on foot or by car.
Choices with Consequences. Negotiate or use force, choose your allies, and get involved in local conflicts. Your actions shape the fates of characters and life in the settlements.
Simulated Svalker Lives. Other scavengers travel through the Rayon, collect relics, trade, fight, and may die. Each has their own goal and their own relationship with you.
Connections and Mutual Aid. Exchange messages through your PDA, respond to distress calls, trade, and share stories around the campfire. A friendship may lead to a gift, a good deal, or help in a fight.
Turn-Based Combat. Manage action points, choose your weapons and equipment, and put your accuracy and reflexes to the test when shooting.
Life Between Expeditions. Set up a home, find companions, invest in a business, or try your luck at the card table.
Mysteries of the Rayon. Anomalies, relics, hidden laboratories, and creatures from Slavic folklore in a world of sinister mysteries and dark humor.
