A bug hive called the Chitin has overrun the colony. The Colonial Authority is sending in the troops to take them back.

COLONIALS is an army Autobattler. Before each fight you place your squads and give them orders: hold the line, intercept the charge or guard the objective.
Troopers pick their own targets. Engineers build sentries under fire. Medics keep everyone standing. You sit back and watch the tracers fly.
DEATH IS JUST A PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Every map is five rounds in a row, with a boss at the end. Win a round and you move on to the next. Lose one and the Authority calls it a valuable learning experience.
Every round pays, even the one you lost. Spend it on recruits, training and bigger barracks, then take the map again from the first round, stronger than last time. 
ONE TROOPER. THEN A SQUAD. THEN A WALL OF RIFLES.
There are ten kinds of squad, from Riflemen and Flamers to Voltigeurs that throw ball lightning and Cutters with mining lasers. Beat a boss and you pick a new squad to join your army.
Squads level up, and every fifth level teaches them something new: burst fire, armour-piercing rounds, burning fuel, lightning that forks. By the last map you're commanding hundreds of troopers.
CALL THE SKYDROPS
Orbital strikes. Strafing runs. Napalm. Sentry turrets. An orbital laser for when subtlety fails. Call them in yourself mid-fight, or switch on the auto-dial and keep your hands off the keyboard.
KNOW YOUR BUG
Skitters rush in packs. Rams have armoured faces. Spitt range. Gnats fly. Burrowers dig up right next to your reactor. And every map ends with a boss: ten in all, up to the Hive Queen.
Bring the right squad for each one. When you don't, the Why You Lost report tells you exactly who to blame.
